Dear Daveski,

Some people are self employed and required to pay estimated taxes which are based on the prior years earnings and tax rates.

Money expert, the title of the blog really says it all.....if you were a money expert you WOULDN"T have a tax refund.    You would have calculated at the beginning of the year the deductions required on your W-4 form so that you would owe the government money at tax time and not the other way around.   What 'money expert' would needlessly give money away to someone, interest free, for up to a years time, and deny oneself the opportunity to either use that money or earn interest on it in a savings account of some sort?????I'm just amazed as what passes for sound financial advice sometimes??   Stocking up on NO-NAME houseold supplies and goods is a great idea, WHEN THEY ARE ON SALE OR BEING DISCOUNTED.   Paying regular prices on name brands is a foolish idea anytime as you are paying extra for the name brands because of the advertising $$$ they spend on them.
